TRUNKS REFINISHED IN ABACA

IMG_4422.JPG

These trunks have been with me for over a decade. In that time, they’ve suffered great wear and tear, drifting from room to room in the homes I have lived in.

They will always remind me of my London best friend who I got these trunks with at OKA. Going to OKA on the Fulham Road, pulling lilac from lilac trees (or is it a lilac bush) and hoarding things are fond memories I will always cherish. Think Ross and the Pottery Barn apothecary table episode. We were both Ross.

I needed some bedside tables and thought of these trunks. They were identical in size, however in different colours.

Instead of repainting them, I decided to cover them in abaca wallpaper. We actually did the wallpapering indoors, there was little to no mess because the installer I worked with is highly skilled. I opened some windows to let air circulate.
