OLD DRAWERS REFINISHED IN ABACA

IMG_4404.JPG

When I needed extra storage, I went to Philux to get literally whatever they could deliver soonest, which was their Calvin Commode. These drawers have proven to be an investment as it is indestructible.

Over time, I wanted to update its look without having to repaint it, as fumes take quite some time to subside. We used some spare abaca wallpaper on hand from a previous project to cover the chest of drawers.

It wasn’t laborious at all, virtually had no little to smell after application of the wall paper, and it instantly changed the look of this peice. I had a piece of bevelled tempered glass made to cover the top of the drawers to protect it from wear and tear. My wallpaper supplier recommended Krep which is a kind of protective spray they use on sneakers to protect the abaca.

You can use almost any wallpaper, so speak to a few wallpaper suppliers to check if you can give your old furniture a fun update that’s quick and easy.

For the suppliers I have worked with read this.
