ORCHIDS

Of all the flowers in the world, orchids are probably my favourite. Of the flowering plant families, they are by far the largest and most diverse.

PHALENOPSIS

Flossom specialises in orchids and has an incredible variety- from Phaelenopsis to Dwarf orchids, they seem to have everything and in a multitude of colours.

Phaelenopsis from Market Market, the blue and white oriental design pot is from the adjacent department store.

DWARF ORCHIDS IN COPPER POT

This copper pot is actually for keeping drinks cool like a wine bucket. My husband hand carried it during a trip to Bali. It was handmade by Javanese artisans. I love the hammered detail, and use it for plants. These small orchids are from Flossom.

VANDA ORCHIDS

A collection of Vanda orchids bought from the side of the road in White Plains which I hung on wooden window panels turned makeshift trellis. I eventually removed these orchids and attached them to my mango tree where they grew roots that wrapped around the tree.

This happy little bunch is from Gusto Fast and Fresh, run by the same team behind El Dorado Farms. I thought the yellow would look great with this Coca-Cola vintage drinking glass.

DENDROBIUM

Dendrobium Orchids from El Dorado Farms, they have the best selection of cut orchids. Theres not much arranging needed when the blooms are this pretty, just place in a vase with water. Blue vase from Kelly Hoppen London. Crystal vase from Waterford, Ireland.
