CANDLELIT SIMPLICITY

This sort of table arrangement is something I reserve for last-minute gatherings. Sometimes, the most fun nights are ones with the least amount of planning. The candlelight and music were perfect for that rainy night in, gin and tonics in hand.

TABLEWARE

For this table we used, Herdmar Cutlery, vintage plates and soup bowls, blue glasses from Manila House. The table cloth is made with canvas from Divisoria and table napkins are Kassa by Karen Santos. I decided against a charger and placemat because this was a casual last minute dinner with friends.

DECORATIVE ELEMENTS

We kept the decor minimal, using Landmark candle holders and tapered taupe candles from Firma. The bud vases are from Rustan’s and we cut the the longer bits of the Peruvian fern from my garden into quill feather shapes. I wanted the leaves to echo the elongated lines of the tapered candles. I alternated the direction of the leaves angles to add a little playfulness.

TABLE VIBES

I sprayed Byredo Cotton Poplin room spray before guests arrived. On Spotify, Mystery of Love by Sufjan Stevens, Blue World by Mac Miller, Hurricane by Bob Dylan and I’m On Fire by Bruce Springsteen.

All of these items, with the exception of Byredo Cotton Poplin room spray were sourced in the Philippines.
